Overview Sycamore Black Veneer:

One of our most requested products, colored wood veneer has different uses in the construction of guitars and basses. It is generally used for guitar purflings, combining different colors or various curved pieces of solid wood. Likewise, veneer is the raw material for rosettes, previously cut into tiny strips and composing intricate patterns. But sycamore veneer, whether natural or colored, can also be used to provide a contrast between the top and the body of electric guitars and basses, be part of the fretboard inlays... The truth is that the uses of natural wood veneer are limited only by the imagination of the builder.

In this case, the sycamore veneer is stained black and is available in several thicknesses: 0.3 mm, 0.4 mm, 0.5 mm, 0.7 mm and 1 mm.

Perfect veneer

The thickness is pretty accurate. Nice veneer but be careful if you use it for a rosette and glue it with hot hide glue, the color will leak into the spruce. Ask me how I know ! And one soundboard for a hypothetical black top project… I made another top and used UHU Hart glue and the result is perfectly clean.

Good quality black veneer. Glues well, is suitable for the accent layers in laminated structures. Proper length for making laminated necks, for example.
