Botanically named Cordia elaeagnoides and native to Mexico, it requires sharp tools to achieve clean cuts, especially on the lathe. Ideal for decorative boxes, turned handles, compact sculptures or bold inlays. Because its dust can cause skin or respiratory irritation, use protective gear and avoid using it for items that contact food or drink.
