Torrified Hard Maple

Hard Maple (Acer saccharum) is one of the most widely used woods for electric bass fingerboards, valued for its hardness, homogeneous structure, and reliable behavior in the workshop. This hard maple species offers medium-high density, allowing precise profiling and clean, consistent surfaces.

This category includes Hard Maple fingerboards selected for lutherie use. While not graded by quality, all pieces are pre-selected to exclude cracked or structurally defective blanks. Natural variations in color, grain pattern, and growth ring spacing are part of the wood’s inherent characteristics.

Both untreated and torrefied Hard Maple fingerboards are included, the latter being especially appreciated when enhanced dimensional stability and more predictable long-term behavior are required, while retaining the fundamental properties of Hard Maple.
