Bocote (Cordia elaeagnoides) is a prized exotic tonewood in lutherie, known for its striking figure and excellent acoustic properties. With golden-brown hues and bold dark streaks, each fingerboard features a unique pattern that adds character to the instrument.

Thanks to its high density (950–1200 kg/m³) and hardness, this fingerboard delivers durability and a defined response with clear attack and extended sustain—qualities highly valued on electric basses. Its stability ensures reliable performance even with changes in humidity and temperature.

Bocote works well with standard lutherie tools, though sharp edges are recommended due to its hardness. It bonds properly and takes high-quality finishes.
