Brankowood® FSC 100% Black Fingerboard A Classical/Acoustic/Electric Guitar
The Brankowood® Black fingerboard offers a sustainable and stable alternative to traditional tropical woods, with a homogeneous and elegant appearance. Made from FSC 100% certified Pinus radiata and stabilized with natural resins, it provides a durable material, resistant to moisture and highly uniform in color.
Compatibility by size: with 530 x 70 x 8 mm it is suitable for electric guitars (22–24 frets), acoustic guitars (20 frets), archtop and classical guitars. The finished fingerboard is typically ≈460–520 mm, so 530 mm provides enough extra length. The 70 mm width covers nuts from 42–52 mm, and the 8 mm thickness allows for radiusing or leaving it flat for classical.
During production, moisture content is carefully reduced to about 5%, ensuring excellent dimensional stability even under changing climates. Its density is ≈800 kg/m³ (grade A), providing acoustic properties comparable to hardwoods and a firm feel under the fingers.
Thanks to the material’s homogeneity after stabilization, this stabilized fingerboard is highly workable: it sands and finishes easily, reducing the risk of chipping or grain variations.
