A Honduras Cedar Neck Acoustic/Electric/Archtop Guitar
Along with mahogany, cedar necks remain the top choice for most guitar builders. The combination of high strength and low weight makes cedar an ideal wood for the fundamental role of a guitar neck: withstanding the tension exerted by the strings.
All major guitar makers have used cedar for their necks. The list would be endless if we were to name them all. This widespread use is clear proof of how well-suited this wood is for guitar neck construction.
Honduran cedar is a soft wood with warm orange-brown tones, golden reflections, and a characteristic pleasant aroma. It has a very open grain (a pore filler is essential) and is exceptionally easy to work with.
