Torrefied Hard Maple Neck Blank 700 × 85 × 25 mm
Torrefied Hard Maple (Acer saccharum) is widely used in the construction of electric guitar necks due to its homogeneous structure, good stiffness and reliable behavior during workshop operations.
When used specifically as an electric guitar neck, Hard Maple provides longitudinal rigidity that helps maintain neck geometry over time. Its regular internal structure allows for a predictable truss rod adjustment and consistent control of relief once the instrument is finished and in use, a quality especially valued in instruments intended for precise and durable setups.
This neck blank has undergone a torrefaction process, a vacuum-based thermochemical treatment in which moisture and volatile compounds are removed while the structure of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin remains intact.
As a result, the wood loses approximately 20% of its mass with no significant change in volume. The resulting material offers improved dimensional stability and a response to temperature and humidity changes comparable to that of long naturally aged wood, while also developing a characteristic toasted color.
These pieces are not graded by quality. Selection excludes cracked or structurally defective wood, ensuring sound and usable blanks, although natural variations in color, grain pattern and growth ring distribution may be present.
