Resonance Frequency (Hz):  Number of vibrations per second. Each piece has a resonance frequency that characterizes its tone.

Sustain (Q Factor):  How long a piece will keep on ringing after being hit.

Acoustic Radiation Coefficient:  How much energy is necessary to excite a piece in vibrations. The lower the amount of energy, the higher the coefficient

Maderas Barber's new Alpine Spruce tops have undergone a rigorous sound analysis that will allow you to choose the one that best suits your needs based on its sound properties. This analysis has been carried out individually for each top.

When you choose a Top for your guitar, you are choosing the sound of your instrument. That's why we have created a sound catalogue where you can appreciate the acoustic beauty of each piece.

General Description of the Alpine Spruce Top MB Exclusive:

Master quality Alpine Spruce soundboards for classical or western guitars are tops with slow growth rings from the centre to the edges, with minimal variation between them, cut at 90º or with tiny variation, uniform colour throughout, and normally free of defects or if it has any it will not affect its structure or its acoustic properties.

Practically all the tops of this wood and quality have abundant mirrors. These are Top-grade tops with that characteristic shine of the old quality Alpine spruce. They are used for the highest quality guitars. Highly sought after and demanded by luthiers all over the world.
