Overview Tenor Joint Bubinga Asturian Bagpipe 230x37x37 mm:

In Maderas Barber we have available all the necessary sizes to build your Asturian bagpipe. Pieces of this dimension can be used to build the Tenor Joint on this kind of bagpipe.

Bubinga, an African wood sometimes called African Rosewood for having a certain resemblance to some Dalbergias, is a very hard wood, of reddish-pinkish tones, with very characteristic deep red streaks. Its mechanical qualities make it an ideal wood, along with the rest of the other woods we have selected for the same function, for its use as raw material in the construction of wind instruments such as bagpipes and shawms.

Features:

  • Dimensions: 230x37x37 mm
  • Botanical Name: Guibourtia spp .
  • Origin: Africa
  • Density: 700-910 kg/m3
  • Quality: These pieces are not classified by qualities and are included within a medium standard of quality, in other words, when we select them we reject the cracked pieces, with serious defects, or broken or useless ones. Therefore, we will always find good pieces that can have some slight defect, nice pieces, or pieces less attractive, always taking in account variations in colour or growth rings that each wood specie may have.

Those square pieces are ideal for wood turning, once they are finished we can appreciate the beauty of these woods.
