  • Description: These insertion/fixation pieces can be used both for the joining of backs made of 3 pieces, and for inserts on the top and back of the guitar where the sides are joined. Besides being a decorative element, it can be used to adjust the back ends in case the measures are short and achieve a perfect finish. These pieces are usually made of different species from those used in the making of the instrument, although it is also usual to use the same wood as sides and backs.

Strong smell

This wood is about as strong and stiff and alder and african mahogany. It’s visually similar to maple but with more prominent grain lines.
One thing I didn’t expect is how strong it smells. It’s not a BAD smell - it’s spicy, like nutmeg and rum, but it is quite intense and got a little headache-inducing after a while.
