Overview Tight Malaysian Blackwood Classical Guitar Backs:

Malaysian Blackwood is a premium tonewood that is well suited for all guitar types. Denser than most Dalbergias, its glassy, sustained tone is often compared to that of African blackwood. However, it is slightly less brittle and, unlike the former, most sets have attractive dark streaks (called landscape or spiderwebbing), similar to those found in ziricote or cocobolo to name a few examples. The colouring ranges from an intense brown with reddish tones to a greyish green with many shades, crossed by dark lines that provide heterogeneity and appeal to the piece. In addition, in some cases there will also be a light pinkish colour coming from the centre of the trunk.

Tight pieces, whether sides or backs, are slightly narrower and shorter than the standard ones. This makes them ideal candidates for projects with a slightly smaller footprint than normal, such as romantic guitars, parlour guitars, 1/2 scale guitars or other possibilities.

Malaysian Blackwood

Lamentablemente, en uno de los fondos, el centro de la plantilla dibujada sobre el fondo no se corresponde con el borde del mismo. Por ello, incluso para un cuerpo con tiro de 64 cm, el fondo es demasiado estrecho y tendré que utilizar una tira central para lograr el ancho necesario.

Es una madera preciosa . Por el momento parece bastante estable pues apenas se ha movido pese a la diferencia de humedad
