Royal Blackwood Classical Guitar Sides (800 x 110 x 3.5 mm)

Royal Blackwood starts from Purple Heart or Amaranto (Peltogyne catingae), to which a hydrothermal process is applied, alternating heating cycles and forced air to accelerate natural oxidation throughout the core of the wood. The result is a deep, uniform black tone across the full section.

The treatment improves dimensional stability, making it suitable for classical guitar sides. After processing, moisture content is approximately 8%, appropriate for workshop use.

Workshop Performance

In machining, it glues, planes and bends similarly to natural Purple Heart. With a density range of 900–1000 kg/m³, it provides strong rigidity and a bold visual presence, well suited for contemporary dark-toned instruments.

All pieces are supplied sanded on both faces.
