Overview Glued 4-piece Ash Bass / Electric Guitar Body:

Swamp Ash is, next to alder, the wood most commonly used by Fender™ for their guitar and bass bodies. Many instruments used by great players have been built with ash. In ash the sapwood colour is white and the heartwood colour is light brown, although it can also be cream or very light brown. The grain is straight and the porosity of the grain makes it necessary to use a lot of grain filler. Gluing and finishing are not a problem, but it is common for tools to become blunt during machining.

Glued ash bodies are extraordinary for their combination of weight and sound. Remember that not only are they glued, but they have gone through a drying process and have also been sanded. Few tonewoods beat them at this price range.
