Overview Bass Drone Stock / Blowpipe Boxwood Galician Bagpipe 170x35x35 mm:

In Maderas Barber we have available all the necessary sizes to build your Galician bagpipe. Pieces of this size are used to build the Blowpipe of the bagpipe, the piece through which the piper blows and introduces the air into the bag, or for the stock of the bass drone, the part where this last part of the bagpipe is attached to the bag.

Boxwood, probably the hardest wood used in the old continent before the appearance of exotic woods, continues to be one of the favorite woods in the construction of bagpipes. Its hardness, together with the ease with which it turns and the level of detail and filigree it allows are some of its many points in its favor. The only problem with this wood, the small available size of its pieces, is not even such for all those who, like bagpipe builders, do not need large sections. Its light color, between yellow and ochre, is really attractive, and the softness of its touch once worked is frankly good.

Features:

  • Dimensions: 170x35x35 mm
  • Botanical name: Buxus Sempervirens
  • Origin: Spain
  • Density: 970 Kg/m3
