In Maderas Barber we have available all the necessary sizes to build your Galician bagpipe. The chanter stock is the piece where the chanter rests and joins the Bag.
Boxwood, probably the hardest wood used in the old world before the advent of exotic woods, continues to be one of the favorite woods in the construction of bagpipes. Its hardness, together with its ease of turning and the level of detail and finesse it allows, are some of its many points in its favor. The only problem with this wood, the small available size of its pieces, is not even such for all those who, like bagpipe builders, do not need large sections. Its light color, between yellow and ochre, is really attractive, and the softness of its touch once worked is frankly good.
