<p>If you are looking for a <strong>durable, heat and water resistant, fast drying gloss lacquer</strong>, Melamine Lacquer is what you need.<br /><br />Based on cellulose technology, Melamine Lacquer has a catalyst suspended inside; when the lacquer is in the can it is inert, but once applied and exposed to air, the lacquer dries within five minutes like a cellulose and then the catalyst kicks in and the lacquer begins to cure chemically to provide a longer lasting coating. Ninety percent of the curing process takes place in the first seven days after application, making the lacquer very durable. The remaining 10% of the process can take up to two weeks longer to reach maximum hardness, something to consider if the varnish is going to be subjected to extremely hard use.<br /><br />Melamine lacquer is designed to give a full gloss finish which will be achieved with very careful application. <strong>It can be applied by brush (foam or bristle), cloth or spray. Afterwards, clean the surface with a clean cloth. As it is a water-based product, it<strong> is easily removed</strong>, but if left to dry for more than 5-10 minutes it will be more difficult to remove. Repeat the process a couple of times more so that the cracks are more defined. We can also apply it on the back of a neck that is sanded down to the bare wood, achieving a worn effect with a dark tone.
