General description of the Sapele Quilted Unfinished Electric Bass Body Precision Style MB Exclusive:
The Sapele Quilted Unfinished Electric Bass Body Precision Style MB Exclusive is made in Spain and it is a faithful recreation of the legendary Fender™ Precision™ model. This body has been pre-routed with the usual split coil pickup configuration and is designed to use a 5-screw bridge.
The body of this bass has all the necessary routings for the electronics and hardware. The holes for the neck and bridge screws have already been drilled.
Finished with 120 grit sandpaper. The body has been sanded to remove the most obvious marks from the cutting and routing process, but it will always be necessary to sand with finer grit sandpaper before any finishing.
Sapele Quilted is a unique and special variation, a rarity of nature, which completely changes the appearance of the wood giving it different and irregular flamed shapes similar to a "bubble". There are different grades based on the amount and intensity of these bubbles. Quilted woods are very sought-after in the guitar and bass building world, because their rarity makes them exclusive pieces. Some luthiers dye this wood in colours to achieve really spectacular finishes.
