General description of the Alder Unfinished Electric Bass Body Precision Style MB Exclusive:
The Alder Unfinished Electric Bass Body Precision Style MB Exclusive is made in Spain and it is a faithful recreation of the legendary Fender™ Precision™ model. This body has been pre-routed with the usual split coil pickup configuration and is designed to use a 5-screw bridge.
The body of this bass has all the necessary routings for the electronics and hardware. The holes for the neck and bridge screws have already been drilled.
Finished with 120 grit sandpaper. The body has been sanded to remove the most obvious marks from the cutting and routing process, but it will always be necessary to sand with finer grit sandpaper before any finishing.
Alder, like basswood, is a light, soft-porous and compact wood. In addition, Alder is characterised by a spiral grain pattern with stronger rings and sections: a texture like that of basswood but with its entire surface seasoned with rings of superior hardness. This texture increases the stiffness of the wood and enriches the complexity of the tones, so that it retains most of the treble that basswood dampens, offering a wider bass range. In addition, the tone spectrum is broader than that of basswood, so the mids are not as sonorous.
