Tuya, Thuya or Thyine wood, among other names, is a wood that grows mainly in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, although there are small populations in Spain and Malta. It is a small, slow growing tree. The wood of its trunk is not commercially interesting: however, the timber of its root has been sought after since ancient times for use in carpentry. It has a beautiful brown color between red and orange that darkens with time. From any of our unique pieces you can obtain a lot of lathe parts or even, in the case of larger pieces, a guitar or bass top.
