Spalted Maple is highly valued for its distinctive look: decorative patterns created by the natural growth of fungi form unique, unrepeatable veins. With a density between 610 and 680 kg/m³, it is firm but not too hard—ideal for both turning and carving.

Native to central and eastern Europe and botanically named Acer pseudoplatanus, it works well with sharp tools and suits artistic bowls, decorative lids, turned handles or carved pieces with visual impact.
