Overview Nitorlack® Olive Drab Nitrocellulose Lacquer Spray The Gibson Olive Drab color became popular thanks to the Gibson ES-335 of Soundgarden founder Chris Cornell, who passed away in 2017.
The name “olive drab” refers to its brownish-green appearance. Gibson first used this color on some SG models in the mid-60s and brought it back in 2013 for the highly exclusive Chris Cornell ES-335 Signature .
Today, Gibson , Epiphone , and Fender frequently use this color on both budget-friendly models and custom shop editions.
