Overview Nitorlack® Candy Apple Red Nitrocellulose Lacquer Spray Classic Candy Apple Red finish. This color was first used by Fender in 1963, inspired by the sugar coating of candied apples. It was Leo Fender’s favorite color.
The Candy Apple Red effect is achieved by applying silver or gold metallic particles before the tinted color coat. In this process, the applied color is not opaque but semi-transparent , allowing the metallic layer underneath to remain visible.

<p>A new product developed by Valresa, Relic Patina will allow you to <strong>achieve an aged look</strong>, filling the holes, cracks and marks in the nitrocellulose lacquer.<br /><br />Just <strong>apply a generous amount</strong> and leave it on for 5 to 10 minutes. Afterwards, clean the surface with a clean cloth. As it is a water-based product, it<strong> is easily removed</strong>, but if left to dry for more than 5-10 minutes it will be more difficult to remove. Repeat the process a couple of times more so that the cracks are more defined. We can also apply it on the back of a neck that is sanded down to the bare wood, achieving a worn effect with a dark tone. <p>If you are looking for a <strong>durable, heat and water resistant, fast drying gloss lacquer</strong>, Melamine Lacquer is what you need.<br /><br />Based on cellulose technology, Melamine Lacquer has a catalyst suspended inside; when the lacquer is in the can it is inert, but once applied and exposed to air, the lacquer dries within five minutes like a cellulose and then the catalyst kicks in and the lacquer begins to cure chemically to provide a longer lasting coating. Ninety percent of the curing process takes place in the first seven days after application, making the lacquer very durable. The remaining 10% of the process can take up to two weeks longer to reach maximum hardness, something to consider if the varnish is going to be subjected to extremely hard use.<br /><br />Melamine lacquer is designed to give a full gloss finish which will be achieved with very careful application. <strong>It can be applied by brush (foam or bristle), cloth or spray.
