<p>La pastilla P-90 fue desarrollada por Gibson en 1946 como una evolución de sus primeras pastillas de bobina simple. Su diseño, atribuido a Walter Fuller, presentaba una <strong>bobina ancha y plana con imanes de Alnico colocados debajo de los polos ajustables</strong>, lo que le otorgaba un sonido más cálido y potente que el de las pastillas tipo Fender de la época. Originalmente se usó en modelos icónicos como la Gibson Les Paul Goldtop de 1952 y las archtops de la marca.
