<p>Este espaciador cincado se sitúa debajo de la bobina de la pastilla y <strong>conduce el campo magnético</strong> a las piezas polares ajustables. Tiene <strong>10 orificios</strong>, para una separación de 50 mm y está diseñada para su uso con pastillas <strong>P-90</strong>. Los agujeros restantes están destinados a los tornillos de montaje de las pastillas.</p>\r\n
<p>La pastilla P-90 fue desarrollada por Gibson en 1946 como una evolución de sus primeras pastillas de bobina simple. Su diseño, atribuido a Walter Fuller, presentaba una <strong>bobina ancha y plana con imanes de Alnico colocados debajo de los polos ajustables</strong>, lo que le otorgaba un sonido más cálido y potente que el de las pastillas tipo Fender de la época. <p>En lugar de utilizar una lámina adhesiva, se puede instalar una placa de aluminio más gruesa entre el golpeador y el cuerpo de la guitarra para conectar a tierra los controles y ayudar a <strong>apantallar completamente la cavidad de la electrónica</strong> y los conductos de cableado de las pastillas. (No se requiere cableado adicional, ya que se conectará a tierra mediante contacto con los potenciómetros).</p>\r\n
<p>Este diseño original de <strong>11 agujeros de montaje, con el tornillo ubicado de manera más centrada entre las pastillas del mástil y del medio</strong>, fue introducido a finales de 1959 o principios de 1960, reemplazando al diseño de 8 agujeros. Sobre 1963, fue sustituido por el diseño moderno de 11 agujeros, con el tornillo colocado más cerca de la pastilla central. La placa tiene recortes para las tres pastillas de bobina simple, el interruptor de palanca, los tres potenciómetros y todos los tornillos de montaje. Si se desea instalar en una guitarra para zurdos solo es necesario voltearla.<br /><br />Es importante tener en cuenta que esta placa <strong>no es compatible con el diseño moderno de golpeador de 11 agujeros</strong> de Fender, que tiene el tornillo de montaje medio y lateral más cercano a la pastilla central.</p>\r\n
